Participants, judges and volunteers converged at the Womble Carlyle building in downtown Winston Salem for the closing dinner and awards ceremony. For the first time in the thirteen years of the WFU Elevator Competition a Wake Forest team won first prize in the traditional category.

The patent-pending Resonant Harmonic Oscillation Technology™, which powers the Rhotek™ handle system, is based on NSF funded research. It is an innovative new personal load carrying solution that decouples the motion of the load from the motion of the load carrier, which significantly reduces the energy cost and the peak forces of walking and running and the likelihood of injury. We plan to first integrate our technology into stretchers for the US Army through our contact in the Army Rapid Equipping Force and then expand into the emergency services and consumer goods market. Like the suspension system in the modern automobile, our product is a tuned suspension system for carrying loads, which increases comfort, safety and efficiency.
